Placer County Real Estate Market Update

The Placer County real estate market is starting 2015 with residential re-sale inventory levels slightly higher than this time last year, and with sales at about the same level.  The really interesting statistic is the volume of pending sales, which is up some 37%.  What that means is that we have a much higher volume of sales that are scheduled to close escrow in the coming month.  The chart below summarizes the data from TrendVision™ as of February, 2015.

Obviously, the numbers will vary depending on which community you're in as well as the price range, but overall Placer County home sales are starting the year better than they did in 2014.  Both the average and median prices are up, but the days on market is up slightly from 52 to 57.  This number can vary widely depending on location and price range.  Mortgage interest rates are still very low right now, and this is also playing a big role in local home buyers qualifying and making the decision to buy right now.
