Rocklin, CA is located in Placer County along both sides of I-80, unofficially beginning as a ranch town where Spring Valley Ranch was established over 150 years ago. Spring Valley Ranch was known for giving hundreds of ranch hands their start near the end of the gold rush. This area would be officially incorporated as "Rocklin", around 1893. Rocklin really began to come into it's own when the granite found within the city limits started being used as the foundations for many buildings in both Sacramento and San Francisco.
Rocklin is a beautiful place to live with convenient access to I-80, and is home to over 64,000 people and a diverse business mix and a variety of retailers. Significant retail growth has recently taken place at the intersection of Sierra College Blvd. and I-80 as a result of residential growth, and Rocklin is known as having some of the area's top schools and gorgeous recreational parks. Rocklin is home to Sierra College, a two-year junior college that opened in 1962 and is #1 in Northern California for transfers to four-year universities, as well as William Jessup University, a private four-year liberal arts university. You'll also have access to some of the area's best shopping, without sacrificing suburban living.
The City of Rocklin's recent acquisition of the former Rocklin Golf Club is seen by most to be another very positive move. Located in the south part of the City in the I-80/Highway 65 area, this 184 acres of land was purchased for $5.8 Million and the City is now taking public comments into consideration of how to best utilize this property.
